Get out and play in the great outdoors! The area offers many greenspaces and outside activities to keep you busy all year. Steps from home is Roe Park, which features more than 40 acres of sports courts, trails, and a pavilion. Access Indian Creek Trail at Roe Park and follow it through to Kansas City on foot or via bike. Golf enthusiasts will love the area and its many golf courses, from Hallbrook Country Club to Brookridge Golf & Fitness. Take in the splendor of nature at the 300-acre Overland Park Arboretum, visit Kansas City’s largest park, Slope Park, and enjoy ziplining, or take a trip to the Kansas City Zoo. There’s no wrong way to enjoy outdoor adventures!

It’s easy to commute in, around, and out of Overland Park. Highlands Lodge is conveniently located off Interstate 435/Route 50, which includes access to I-35, Route 60, I-470, and I-49. Need to catch a bus? We are local to the Metcalf bus stop. If you are traveling out of state, we are just over 30 minutes south of Kansas City International Airport. College students: we are just 9 minutes away from Avila University, as well as local to Johnson County Community College, Cleveland University-Kansas City, Rockhurst University-St. Luke’s, and Kansas Christian College; we are also less than 20 minutes away from University of Missouri-Kansas City Volker Campus.
